The Pursuit*

It dangles in front of you. Already, you’re mesmerised by its imperfect shape, it’s rich colour, it’s daunting size, and above all, the Pleasure it will procure in your life.

It’s right in front of you. You can already imagine what it will feel like in your hand, mouth, beyond.

Stiff, maybe a little bit hairy — but nothing unkempt. Definitely something you can handle.

You know the real fun starts when your mouth opens. The mere thought of this seemingly imminent moment has mobilised each and every one of your taste buds; lest we forget the sensation of your salivary glands as they run on all cylinders. You can feel your nerves tingling into a state of overexcitement. Your heart promptly follows suit, thudding in its slow, but simultaneously fast way.

Climax already in mind, Happiness is literally within reach. As you consider lunging forward, it’s shape seems to morph, albeit subtly. It looks bigger.

Thus far, it’s your restraint that stands pointlessly between you and Happiness.

Unable to take it anymore.

*

The lunge.

It’s out of reach.

As the frustration begins to embed itself at the back of your throat, the anxiety spreads throughout your Being, paradoxically intensifying your desire, but it also further justifies your desire.

So you lunge harder, with more intent. This time with tongue. Let it undulate desperately in the air, and hope.

Hope that Pleasure will reciprocate in kind, as a reward for your desire, your intense desire. Hope that Happiness will be at the rendez-vous. Hope that your audacity to desire so intensely, will bear fruit.

The truth of the matter is, You deserve better for yourself, so stop being an ass.

Stop being the ass, who thinks Happiness will come when the dangling carrot enters its mouth.

Secret between mates : Carrots aren’t even in the recipe.

Just enjoy the ride, dumb ass.
